Product Teaser

My first product in Magic Leap is the 2017 product teaser page. The website features an interactive WebGL scene (“the Portal”) and the first inside look at the Magic Leap One device. I was in charge of the UI/UX of the homepage.

April 2018

Creator Launch

We opened our Creator Portal to the public in April 2018. We built a Creator Marketing page that promotes our developer community and portal. I led the site architecture and narrative for this project.

August 2018

Magic Leap One Launch

The Magic Leap One Launch was one of the pivoting point for Magic Leap, and I was very fortunate to be a huge part of it since it’s inception. As the product owner on this project, I worked closely with the 3D artists, creative technologist, and marketing to unfold the story of Magic Leap One. With this fresh design, we were nominated for 2018 Best Homepage in the Webby Awards.

April 2019

Enterprise Launch

We refreshed our website in 2019 to include the enterprise solutions. The new site features more apps and experiences, a store locator, and a brand new shop experience

Overview

Our team (Digital Experience Team) has been in charge of MagicLeap.com since day one when the company was founded. Being the Product Manager and UX Designer, my job is to help craft the user interaction and narrative of the website. For each iterations, I also led all user research sessions to perfect the UX.

Why does it matter?

MagicLeap.com is usually the first touch point of Magic Leap and it’s potential customer. Hence, we put huge emphasis on building a quality website with a story to tell. We believe that by putting the magic in the details, we are able to connect with our users.

Prompt

“How do you explain TV to people who have only seen radio?”

This is our challenge in a nutshell. Mixed reality and spatial computing have been such a new concept where most people associate it with Pokemon Go. Through this magical website, we want to push the boundaries of people’s imagination to explain and paint the future of computing – we call it the era of spatial computing.

Impact and Awards

Magicleap.com is one of Magic Leap’s proudest creations. Although the impact it made is confidential, Magicleap.com has won countless awards, such as the FWA Awards, the Awwwards Site of the day, the Annual Webby Awards, the CSS Design Awards and many more.

The Team

This success would not be possible without this awesome team:

Matt W. (Director), Charlie H. (Lead Engineer), Maya M. (3D Artist), Morgan V. (Creative 3D Engineer), Hunter S. (Frontend Engineer), Eric M. (Visual Designer), Eric Y. (Lead Design, User Researcher), Adam K. (Visual Designer).
